Karen
Veterinary Surgeon
MRCVS
I graduated from Liverpool University back in 1997. The first years of my career were spent in mixed practice, gaining valuable experience in all aspects of veterinary life, from cats to calving. However, my heart was in Kent, and I've been back in my home county for many years now, working first in mixed practice and more recently solely with small animals.
Over the years, I developed an interest in Feline Medicine, and I am undertaking a distance education course with the University of Sydney in this field. Although it was a big challenge to go back to studying, it is incredibly interesting and helps in my clinical work.
I was thrilled when the opportunity arose to join the Sandhole team in March 2019 - being local to the area; I was already very aware of the practice's brilliant reputation for the fantastic patient and client care. It's great to work alongside such a supportive, knowledgeable and caring team of vets, nurses and customer care colleagues.
Outside work, I love to go running when I can - however, I have a busy family life, thanks to my triplets, our lovely Labrador Louis and very cheeky cat, Prince.
