Amy
Lead Nurse RVN
I have been horse mad since I was a child and always wanted to work with animals. After obtaining my degree in Animal Science in 2011, I went on to work as a veterinary receptionist before training as a Veterinary Nurse in a 24-hour emergency clinic, qualifying in September 2015. My next role involved teaching Animal Care, Welfare and Vet Nursing at Solihull College, alongside my nursing.
January 2017 was the start of the most exciting chapter yet, as I joined Sandhole! I am so glad to have found a practice that shares my beliefs and values; the Sandhole team is committed to ensuring consistently excellent care standards and minimising patient stress. I particularly enjoy taking care of inpatients and making sure they are as comfortable as possible (plenty of TLC during a hospital stay is very important!) I also have a keen interest in wound management.
In my spare time, I can be found riding and caring for my Irish sports horse Tabitha. I also have two rescue cats – one was previously feral, extremely nervous and had ongoing health problems, so I truly understand the needs of nervous animals and enjoy making their Sandhole Vets experience as easy as possible.
